you'll see that the oil fans out from the point that the PCV hose bayonet fitting enters the duct. That's not what would happen if you were sending air into the crankcase through the fitting.
And, if you look at the fitting that enters the plastic duct, the opening of the fitting is shrouded and faces towards the turbo creating a low pressure area at the fitting (think Bernoulli) which allows the induction system to scavenge the crankcase when you have a high boost condition which would close the PCV check valve on the small crankcase line.
