Worn on the edges, tread in the middle? For longer tire life, IMO you need more air, not more tire. And more tire rotations. Driving behavior counts too. I wouldn't suggest driving like an octogenarian just to extend tire life, but consider how you drive and adjust your expectations accordingly.

BFG Touring T/As (or, as the former Uniroyal Goodrich Tire Company Chief Counsel calls them, "Traveling T/As" were good, long wearing tires. I have eeked 40,000 miles from a set and still didn't have many wear bars showing. Note that when you expect to stay on the road in any kind of snow, 5/32 is considered a minimum tread depth for either winter tires or "all season" tires.

Their replacement, Traction T/As, are better in every respect. Touring T/As may still be available from Sams Club (and presumaby BJs), for about $10 less. If you are replacing two only, the new tires should go on the back (contrary to instinct) for safety. Another reason to rotate tires.

Michelin purchased UGTC a generation ago. While Michelin Brand tires are excellent, they are not cost competitive. Unless you are buying into the rarefied air of "Ultimate Performance Tires", such as the Michelin Sport PS2, a BFG brand tire will give you the same performance and quality for less money. IMO.
