If it's in the 200 k range that will lower value of the vehicle. The people who say it's worth 5000 to 7000 do not quite understand insurance values. Insurance like banks use wholesale values not retail values, but you should be more in the range of your insurance company. If the other driver is at fault and was cited take them to small claims or if you have comprehensive or collision from your company, you can have them pay but they may want the car if they total it. Most companies when they total a car let you buy it from them but they won't give it to you for free.
