If it didn't leak until you started it he probably broke one of the elbow fitttings where the fuel lines attach to the pump. If you remove the trunk floor you should see a large(about 8") metal plug with a rubber edge. If you pry this up you will see the top of the pump. The problem should be fairly obvious. Those elbows can be replaced but it can be a pain without proper tools.
