I have to respectfully disagree, Fred. I bought an '88 900S fitted with an open K+N, and I believe that it adds a lot of pep to the aceleration, both from a standing start, and in passing acceleration. I also got the same comment from a mechanic who did my clutch, who noted that the car had more than the usual aceleration.
