Thanks to the numerous previous postings from others on this subject, I found the problem - I bet you have the same.

Remove the rear seat bottom, and have a look on the passenger side by the roof pump and the driver's side by the relay box.

You can see the channel which directs rain water coming from behind the rear side windows - there's a small steel plate welded in place just above the pump and fuse panel respectively. On closer inspection, you'll see that the weld doesn't run the entire length of the panel. This is a bona-fide DESIGN/MANUFACTURING FLAW in these cars, because it allows that drain water to seep through the gap and run underneath the recess on the rear floor where the pump/relay panel is located. Once that accumulates, it spills forward into the actual passenger cabin floor area, where it becomes trapped and held by the under-carpet padding.

I spent all last Sunday tearing out my interior to get things dry, and I'm planning to silicone the heck out of this later on today, since it's dry here and will be wet again tomorrow. Since the carpet and padding are still out, I'm going to keep a careful eye on it to see if it's really the only source of my leaks.

The irony of this is that all your drains can be free and clear, and you'll still get water in the car because it isn't efficiently channeled TO the drain in the 1st place. Such a simple oversight in an otherwise well-engineered car. Perhaps this is why there aren't many of these fine vehicles around anymore, because they rust from the inside out and by the time the source is detected, it's usually too late to do anything about it.
