I've seen a few of those swaybar ends pop out or push through the bushings. The poly bushings are brittle and break. Rubber is more durable but not as stiff.
Brake light: the system is not smart enough to know about the condition of the brakes, but it is smart enough to throw on the light when a sensor is bad. So if you get a light over a speed pump then one of the sensors probably has a poor connection.
