Don't know quite how to answer.... I did the best job I could on the installation but it's also the only time I've done this. So, who knows? Might have looked different if I'd spent the considerable extra money for a pro install instead of doing it myself but considering the relatively low cost involved, I think it turned out well.
The covers are made well ( advertised by saabstuff.com as being cut from original SAAB patterns ) with good stitching and high quality leather. So, I guess by your assessmet, I did a bad install.
One possible explanation for the wrinkles is that the covers are installed over foam that's twenty years old and probably compressed from use and possibly leather shrinkage. As davidm says, leather shrinks over time. The after pic in the before & after photos at saabstuff looks like the passenger side cover in my pic.
Personally, I don't mind the wrinkles. I've seen many new cars with the same appearance and I prefer it to the skin tight covers which were in my car originally - there's some give under weight which I suspect alleviates a lot of strain on the stitching and on the leather itself.
