The unrealistic factory book time to R/R engine, swapping transmission is 6 hours.
This is based on a brand new clean car with a fully equipped Saab shop and trained technician and no other work whatsoever involved except unbolting bolting on a new transmission.
The more realistic time for a transmission swap is 10-12 hours where it includes checking/inspecting/cleaning other things when the engine is out of the car.
Count on about 2-3 hours extra to do the timing chain and guides when transmission is removed. This is of course if the cylinder head gasket is intact after timing cover is removed. If not, the cylinder head needs to be removed too.
