Re: Is an SPG better than a 900T? Posted by RS [Email] (#15) [Profile/Gallery] (more from RS) on Sat, 15 Apr 2006 19:27:11 In Reply to: Is an SPG better than a 900T?, David, Sat, 15 Apr 2006 19:15:35 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Depending on the year, ('85 and '86 come to mind) an SPG is a trimmed-out 900T. In later years, the SPG got enhancements including lower, stiffer springs and a APC controller that was set for some more turbo boost. One of the last years ('90, IIRC) the SPG got the Mitsubishi turbo a year before the 900T got it. But, other than the trim options and the minor tweaks, an SPG is just a 900T (not that that's a bad thing, by any means.)
With a little ingenuity and a cash infusion, you can make a garden-variety 900T perform and handle better than a stock SPG.
Better is a relative term. SPGs and 900Ts both have their advocates.
