had exactly the same suspension that the 900T's have & not untill 87 did did saab finally put the lowered springs on there & also the wopping 5 HP & 12ft lb of torque increase. 88 was the same as 87 except it comes with the newer MUCH better brakes. I thought 89 or 90 is when the HP was bumped further to 175 HP & also the newer LH 2.4 ECU's
If it's worth buying a SPG over a 900t I do not feel is the issue it's more about the condition of the car itself. If a 900t is found which is wel cared for & has zero rust I would buy it in a heartbeat over a SPG whixh has rust. Like others stated, it's VERY easy to make a 900T not only handle better but looks the same & have quite a bit more power then a SPG. Seems like the SPG panels have dropped in price & can be had for $300 ish with a set of SPG wheels being in the $200-300 range.
