If the car cranks, but does not fire, get a can of carb cleaner and pull off a vac line on the intake plenum and spray (using the plastic wand) into the plenum to a count of three or so. replace the vac line.
try and start. if trys to start, aka it's getting "fuel" from the carb cleaner, you know that the spark is happening.
If you know where the fuel regulator is, it's on the fuel rail and has a vac line on the top and bolts to the fuel rail on the bottom. about the size of a 1/2 of a D batter or so. pull the vac line from the top. There should not be any fuel there, this is the vac side that controls the membrane movement for fuel delivery. if fuel squirts out you need to change the fuel regulator. a 900S should have the 3.0 BAR part. It's the same for all of the 900 non turbo from 1986 to 1993 so you could either source from the junke yarde, or purchase one. about $60 new as I rememeber. Had to do one on the wifes 1987 900T when were did the head job. It dried out and the memebrane split. no workied at that point.
keep us posted on your progress.
