Hi Walter -
You will be able to re-use the metal radio bracket in the new location. I am assuming your car does not have a factory equalizer installed in the top console slot (under the ashtray). You'll need to remove the center console, then you can take out the pocket that is there now. With the console out, you can see the tabs that hold the pocket in from the rear and slide it out. The slot is a DIN size, so any DIN radio bracket will fit in there.
You may need to extend some of the wiring to make it fit the new location. I did mine with a new radio, so I spliced the factory power and speaker leads to new wire, then tied that into the wiring off my new radio. You can run the wiring down from behind the dash down to the new location - behind the console - very easy to do with the console out. When it's back together the wiring will be hidden. You will probably also need an extension cable for the antenna lead - car radio shops and car parts stores generally have these, they are a standard item. The factory lead in my car only just came out to the old location in the dash, it was not long enough to go down to the new location.
Hope this is helpful. As I say, I did this with mine and it was straightforward. Nice to have gauges in the top slot. I'd suggest getting all of the extra wire, etc, on hand before you start taking it apart.
