i had the same problem, it was the cog gear set, not any easy fix for the first timer, took it to my mechanic and watched him replace it, you can still start the car if it was in the run position just have to use a jumper wire in the fuse box, at the circular plug up front, place wire in the 1 o'clock and the 6 o'clock position and the car will start then pull wire out. to stop car if its manual just ease off the clutch in third gear, then disconnect the battery so as not to drain it, care will run perfectly, i had to do it to get it to the mechanic, hardest part of replacing pins is aligning them to the ingition tumbler. hope this was of help.
