Just did mine and got good results...
1. Remove switchpack from center console
2. On a towel covered table, slip a tiny screwdriver between the slots and pins that hold the case together. Go slow and open carefully. Note orientation of copper switch rockers and the slots cut in their sides to rest on saddle-like pivots. Pretty obvious once you see it.
3. Fine sand/emory paper and electrical cleaner if you've got it (good to have) to clean contacts.
4. I went a step further and separated the topmost "layer" and cleaned the plastic switch buttons, etc. Remember to mark the orientation of the "opening window" icon if you take the buttons all the way out. heh, heh
5. Snap everything back together and reinstall. A very do-able one hour maintenance project
More has been written here on the subject. Try a search on "window" or "switch"
Good luck
