Sounds convincing to me. I can't imagine that there was any structural integrity left without it! Has anyone seen a brace between the upper struts? Guess it would need to go around the back of the engine. I had a bar across the struts on my 911 and it made all the front body twist go away. I think the Saab front structure is stiffer than the 911, so maybe there is no need for it.
