It's not worth it since the rack is mechanically worn out in the aluminum housing.
What the rebuilders do is to arbor out some part of the steering rack and sleeve it so that it will not go bad again.
I only know of one shop that many years ago tried to rebuild (reseal)their own racks but stopped doing it due to the complications and not being to do a good job.
Back in those days a rebuilt rack was a lot more money too than what you get one for nowadays.
