leaking. I found, upon ADS disassembly, that in the "0" position, the rubber "maze/channeled" vacuum routing seal within allows unrestricted vac/air flow to the next two clockwise (viewed from driving position) ADS dial knob positions (the double big arrow max flow and next smaller double arrow).
i.e., with vacuum applied directly to the "in" port/nub of the ADS - the switch would not hold vacuum in the "0" position (and this is apparently normal). What I ended up doing, while the engine was idling (and with the loud hiss at the ADS in position "0", if this is what you have?), was to moderately pinch off each vac hose coming into the ADS. I started with the "in" hose (from the engine bay vac reservoir), which stopped all vac hiss noise, progressing to all subsequent ADS hoses
Result: no dramatic story - just a previously pulled off vac hose by the PO to one of the vacuum servos. When unpinching the respective hoses, I could hear the appropriate servo move/open/close.
I also listened for possible idle change (there wasn't any), and hooked up a DMM to watch O2 sensor avg/max/min V while doing the pinching/unpinching (no V change)
Saabsavior, other site sponsors, scrapyards, classified parts, mech listing, etc., should have a used switch, if you want to go that route (again?) over new
Townsend, Bentley, etc., have HVAC routing diagrams, as you've probably already seen
