Oil Tube - Metal to Plastic -- Replace Tube or Sealant Posted by 88SPGClone [Email] (#1317) [Profile/Gallery] (more from 88SPGClone) on Fri, 2 Feb 2007 08:42:31 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I can pull my oil file tube off the metal fitting (attached to the tranny). The plastic isn't broken just expanded over time preventing the plastic from sealing tight to the metal barb. The copper gasket between the tranny to the metal base has been replaced. I'm getting an oil leak directly in that area and I suspect it's the base oil tube connection. Does it make sense to replace the tube or use some kind of sealant? I'm not entirely sure Loctite 518 would be appropriate...so any suggestions?
