Saab continuum - ignition problem and loose dash wires Posted by Saabu [Email] (#1133) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Saabu) on Sat, 24 Feb 2007 20:28:07 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Ok, so get this: i bought an 87 SPG, did the brakes and parked it out back for a few weeks.
in the meantime i bought a 91 2.1L - main problem being the ignition key would not turn on from the off position. I replaced the shifter housing with a good one; problem solved.
Now, i go back to the SPG and guess what?
Frequent readers of this board will instantly guess that the ignition key on the SPG is now stuck in the off position and wont turn on. Tranny is in reverse gear as it should be with the key off.
that's the first headscratcher.
Second, on the 91 2.1l there are three unconnected wires on the drivers side underdash in the area of the hood latch handle.
An orange wire coming from the lower black plug of the main wiring harness (which attaches at the firewall) from the lower row, 2nd from left.
From the wiring descending down to the intermittent wiper relay complex, there is a black wire with female end, and a yellow/red wire with female end (with clear plastic cover on it)just hanging there.
i'm wondering if two of these wires should be connected to each other, or perhaps they are wires relating to APC system which this car lacks.
Look forward to your help,
