I've had to replace or have the radiator rodded out on all my Saabs. My first was a 1983 8V na. At 169K miles it had a new aluminum radiator from the dealer. I got the 36mm socket for the block drain. I faithfully flushed and replaced the Prestone every 12-24 months. About 7 seven years later I had the MS spring warmup. Took the radiator to the local radiator shop. They said they could sometimes bend the tabs back to get the plastic tank off and rod out the core. They called and said the tabs broke. Took the radiator home and pulled a tank off and found the core clogged with white deposits.
