made it easy. really just 4 screws, pull the top off, then 8 nuts hold the guides in, pull the sunroof out! remember to only loosen the spring nuts at the back, enough to slide the rear guides 'outwards'. the biggest deal with the sunroof was going to be stitching the new cloth to those damn plastic strips! the front one was already in 3 pieces, so i didn't bother-just glued the cloth to the metal. hope it holds! kept the original sunroof cloth for if it doesn't! with the hatchback w/sunroof (electric) the headliner board really wasn't that fragile-and mine has had regular soakings for the last year or more! i used the 4" dia tube that the fabric came on to help with laying the cloth, i think that made all the difference. Really does make all the difference to the interior-got to get to that drivers seat next, but being the light taupe leather, i'm probably going to have to put a 9000 seat in. probably took around 5 hours to do the roof, but lots of waiting for glue, etc...of course, got to wait the 24 hrs before putting it back in! took 20 minutes to get everything back together-strongly suggest using a drill w/torx for all those handles, etc! probably should have done a better job of cleaning all the bits up before reinstall, but the car is really a beater, with 240k and third engine!
used a piece of ply for my table-and a roll of builders paper to keep things clean-that way i could just pull a clean section after spraying glue, etc. so easy, wish i had done it last year! glad i don't have a saloon, that would have been harder, i'm sure! good luck everyone, and get to it!
