93 900 S 5 spd in 90 SPG - whats the thoughts?

I am about to pick up a 93 900 S parts car w/ the 2.1 engine and original 5 spd tranny.
My 90 SPG's trans is fine, but my 89's is a little shaky. So I'm "stocking up" for the future with this.
So the question is... would a 1993 900S trans work in either of these SPGs? I did a little research on the ratios and all that but couldn't make heads or tails of real world experience. I know front mount may be different (Hydraulic vs rubber) but that's no sweat.
Thanks Ben
