The foam will dry quickly if laid out in the sun, but if you don't find the source of the leak you will be repeating this procedure often. I believe the foam is mainly for road noise.
My SPG leaked while driving in the rain, I was able to narrow it doen to the rear quarter window seals and rust perforation in the rear wheel wells. The SPG body kit piece ahead of the rear wheel opening has a clip that is secured by a bolt through a rubber piece into the rear wheel well. This bolt hole got rusty and evetually grew larger and allowed the rear tire to fling water into the hole.
I also had a backed up sunroof drain, but you would notice water dripping from the ceiling or a wet headliner. Finding leaks can be a real chore, good luck.
