K & N's (ALL wetted gauze type filters) give you high air flow, which translates to more horsepower. They do this by being less restrictive. This also lets in more dirt. You should see if they have the foam boot, which is oiled, and greatly increases the efficiency without affecting flow. Amsoil used to make a foam filter that was high flow and high efficiency, but they discontinued them for a new nanofiber technology. I don't know if the new ones are any better, but they claim they are
