It was the 1st time we I did the BJ job (cause there's no good indie or service station here whom I can trust :(). Symptoms:
- some knocking when driving over pits and ruts on a low speed. It sounds like 'boom' or 'took' (i.e. it's a dull sound, not like 'butz' or 'bums' or 'bams')
- just bought a car (110K miles) and had no idea what BJ are there and when were they installed
Questions:
1. What tool is supposed to be used for tightening BJ nuts? I used a simple wrench but manual says it's to be tightened with a specific torque. I have a dino wrench and tried it on wheel bolts (car's M1993) to feel what are 40 nm like :)
2. What the hell is with the lower BJ?! there's no space either to remove the nut nor to insert any BJ separator tool. I hate to use a hammer when working on a car!
3. I still have that very sound even with all four BJ renewed! Even when I climb over the road border on the rear gear I hear the sound when the rear wheel has just climbed over the border. Sometimes it sounds when crawling in reverse and do some steering. Holy $%^! When I did the BJ-job I noticed that sway bar ending bushings feel themselves to be pretty free when have sway-bar inserted. But the rubber looks to be ok. How can I test these end-links?
Any input is welcome.
CMyles, you're good. Say smth, uh?

P.S.
Just in case - wheel bearings look good as well as control arm bushings. CV joints (inner and outer) look good also.
And... 'installation is reverse of removal' - yeah, it is. But I definitely had some difficulties when inserting new bolts (brand new) holding BJs into the control arm. Or those very BJs in the controls arms (upper).
