the first time I worked on the clutch--- it popped out past the rubber o-rings, then cocked to one side and effectively locked up everything in place, sounds like what you describe. It is easy to cut through the aluminum slave body with a saw, but not so easy to cut through that steel cylinder! And you will get thousands of tiny metal fragments all over the place as you cut. Do this only as a last resort! I was able to straigten the cylinder, then lever under the slave housing (where the three allen bolts go) with pry bars and gradually force the cylinder back into the slave housing. You will have to mangle the o-rings to do this. If you can force it back in, then you will have enough room to remove everything.
