Well, thanks for asking. It is a pretty funny start to my Saab road. I was able to get the first Saab, the 86 2 door, for free. Yes, free. It was sitting for about 3 years on a neighbors property. It was started periodically, but it did not have a title so not driven. I just asked one day what they were going to do with it and she said "take it". So I did. It had 140,000 miles on it an started right up and has run great for the last/first 5,000+ miles. Needless to say I was pretty impressed. So I started to look into the classic 900's just to see if this was a fluke and found that some of them ran forever. So one day looking in Craig$$ist, I found a guy that had 7 Saabs for sale. He was getting ready to move and did not want to take his hobby with him. He didn't give himself a lot of time before he had to move so he was actully thinking about just having them all taken to the crusher if he didn't sell them. The one car that really interested me was the 1980 5 door turbo. The interior in this car is like new, all original. just a couple of nicks on the back of the seats from sun or something. I just couldn't see something like this destroyed. So here I am becoming a Saab fanatic. Each of the parts cars had a purpose the the three running (near running) ones. One had a good turbo engine and tranny, one had a great body, etc... So I will strip two of the rust buckets and have a lot of parts to deal with, but I should be a great source for parts and extra engines and trannys.
That is my story.
