Unable to bleed brakes. OK to drive?

After removing, cleaning and reinstalling one of the rear calipers on a 91 SPG, I snapped off the bleeder valve before bleeding the air. So I lost the fluid between the piston and the brake hose, and now have no way to bleed the air. I can't get the parts and time to do the job for a week.
Can I drive after losing that fluid, and getting air in the system? Or am I shut down until I can replace the caliper? I put about 600 miles/week on the car.
Help!
