You DO need to remove the rear pillar covers, after disconnecting the seatbelt attachments. Pry those panels from about their middle, they bow out and get shorter and snap out of there. Don't pry too sharp or they'll really snap.
Pull up the bottom of the rear seat, fully forward and vertical, and put rear seat full down. Run front seats forward and tip them forward as well.
After removing interior light, grab handle and dummy handle mounting points and covers, and sunvisors, and interior mirror, and anything else that's holding it up that I've forgotten, you sort of work the front lip free from behind windshield gasket and drop the front end down, and move it up forward as far as possible onto the dashboard.
People on here say the rear will then just clear the rear package shelf. Guide it down into trunk, then up and out.
I did this, pulled a 4-door headliner thru the trunk, but removed the package shelf first. The galvanized tube that gives the shelf's front lip stiffness is held by a couple funny spring clips.
And covered by the side pillars, way over at each side, are two small hex-head sheet metal screws that attach it to sheet metal brackets.
The headliner shell, and those rear pillar covers, are made of a puffy weak fiberglass board. It will flex some but is easy to break.
