Yep, that one's a pain sometimes. From the factory, it's a hex bolt, but lots of folks replace them with standard 12mm or 13mm head bolt... I'm guessing since you said open end wrench this is what has happened on your car?
Either way, are you trying to do this just to replace the alt ground strap?
If it were me (I do this on ALL my c900's)... get a new ground strap. I actually get a longer one of thicker gauge. Note... don't make one, you'll regret it, there's so much vibration there that your crimped ends will fail and you're S.O.L.
Anyway, just cut off that old ground strap, get a new one, secure to the alternator in the same place, and then run that new strap up to one of the 4 bolts that actually attaches the AC compressor to its mounting bracket. And wala. You're done... You could even leave the old ground strap if you'd like, but I imagine since you're trying to remove it, its frayed/rotten.
