it seems that saab as an autonomous entity still exists to a degree , but they appear to make few if any of their own parts . I have not heard of them making any parts , but I don't think I am very well informed in this area of knowledge . GM engine , global bodies ....there may be some parts they still make , but I doubt it . the days of innovative swedish engineering coupled with old world almost aircraft grade manufacturing ( so that a well maintained car could last 300k miles ) are gone . saab still seems to have some of its innovative design control , but I think the parts that GM dictates they use are far below the quality and durability they had before GM had a say so in manufacturing in the early 90's . I am saddened by this loss , but its not a bad business model at this point since most people seem to take little interest in what goes into the manufacturing of the most complicated and dynamic machine they will ever own . people on this board know otherwise and thats why they own c900's .
