...and pull out the cooler with the hose. On the few other times I have done this, I have soaked everythging in PB blaster. I never believed that stuff worked.........., until I tried it. Usually I heat up first with a torch, then I PB blast, then I gently proceed.

The risk is that the stuff will twist apart in the same manner that A/C hoses and condensors rip/twist themselves up when you try to remove them.
