I don't know why it makes it to the AMM, since that is upstream, but the PCV enters into the intake just before the BPV so the whole rest of the intake gets a fair bit of oil. Some folks use a catch-can to eliminate the oil issue.
Test the BPV by sucking on its vacuum control line - if it holds a vacuum, it's working. If not, it needs replacement.
You can get AMM/MAF cleaner at auto parts stores, just a spray that's designed not to damage electronics. Cleaned mine up real well, but I didn't notice any improvement in performance/MPG...
