THere's another type of heater that I think is much better than the ones that go into the frost plug hole. They are oil pan heaters, and they stick to the oil pan and warm the oil and it transfers heat to the lower end. padheaters.com sells a 1.5" x 6" heater for 2-4 qt oil systems that should fit on the transmission housing right next to the oil drain plug. This is what I plan on doing in my car.
I dont like the other block heaters at all.
