I have 87 900T. Brakes are marginal stock, ok with Hawk HP+ and slotted rotors. Noisy, grabby with little use, but hit them hard once a week or so and they clean up good and smooth. Also Hawk HP+ pads are dusty, probably as dusty as textar or OEM pads.
Handling is one of those YMMV issues, but I've never really liked mine...too much sway/wiggle. And I've rebuilt the front end, koni shocks. Sport swaybars would cure the problem but I don't want to spend$350 to change them out. Funny, I spent $400 on shox, but the old ones were worn out. And the michelin mxv4 tires aren't exactly great for handling. OK all season...but time to put snows on.
Can't think of any other issues with the 87.
