Go to Townsend and read about checking and setting base boost. Bentley also has a good procedure. You need a gauge to read the base boost pressure -- Sears has one that goes to 10PSI and measures vacuum as well -- that is a good choice for checking the boost and then adjusting it upwards to meet the 5-6 PSI base setting. Be careful to heed the warnings about damaging the wastegate servo diaphram. Wear gloves!! The turbo gets warm and you may need to adjust the rod several times to get it right.
