The transmission cooling system has pressurized ATF moving in it while running and a loose or bad fitting will sometimes only leak when the ATF is pressurized. There are plugs in the case, pressure taps, where a pressurized leak can occur and the entire inside of the unit is splashed with ATF while it's running so ATF could escape from a leak which is above the level at which the ATF settles when the car is not running. A bad torque converter to pump seal will expel a lot of ATF and make quite a mess but only while running. A front cover that's sealing badly up high will do the same. Good luck
