over the last 16 year's I've had (7); (5) 3 doors and (2) 5 doors... although (2) of the 3 doors were strictly parts cars. My favorites are my 86 SPG and an old 79' 5 door (long gone) which looked stock on the exterior/interior and everything else was from an 87 turbo... it could haul anything and hauled ass!
As for the family fleet (including mine) there have been 25 900's over the years; 2/3/4/5 doors and all variations of GLE, GLi, base, base S (93'), S, Turbo and SPG... no convert's though. We've had one from every year except 1981... although I did swap a drivetrain from an 81' into my 80 GLE back in highschool, converting from "B" to "H"... come to think of it I did purchase the car for the swap and junked the rest after the swap was completed so I guess I've had 8 and 3 of them being part's car's.
The family addiction began some 22 years ago when my dad brought home a 74' 99 EMS, great car... currently there is a new gen 900 and GM 9-3 in service as well but i stay away from them, not knocking them or anything they just aren't for me.
In the future I'd like to add a built notchback (turbo'd and modified) as well as a few other pipe-dream combo's but those require shop space... they're part of the 10 year plan.
wow, great thread bj... It's been a long time since I've actually thought about all the great Saab's that have been a part of my life.
