The CD goes in place of the equalizer. Unless you do some different placement overall, you will have no more location to hold the equalizer.
I had just been using the stock (well, taken from a turbo in the junkyard) radio and equalizer with a CD adapter, but then I got bitten this summer when the tape player failed with the adapter inside it, so I couldn't listen to anything until I made a trip to Wasyl in November. Everything's fixed now.
