I won't bore you here, but read it on Daniel Stern's page. HID lights cannot be **properly** installed in a lamp that uses any sort of dual-filament bulb. Dual filament bulbs (H4, 9004, etc) switch beams by turning one filament off, and another on. Each filament is at a different focal point for the lens/reflector. A proper arc discharge bulb has a single point light source, and so you would have to choose whether to have it on high beam or low beam.
Properly cared for and aimed E-code lamps will do 99% of what HIDs do for you.
