saana said it hasn't seen too much salt. a rust free car makes it about a 15 minute job. rusted/salted bolts may make it a bit longer. you may want to take some pb blaster with you to loosen things up in that case.

if you've got garage or off-street parking i'd definately use it if i were you. as you said, the grief saved will more than make up the meter costs.
