I can sympathize. I purchased a 900T 3dr with 110k miles 2 months ago, and I just had to replace the clutch, the slave cylinder, a few hoses. That alone ran me 1300. Then I did some DIY work. Fix broken headlight assemblies, replace wheel well moulding, replace gear shifter, reinstall rain gutter cap, replace fog light lamp. Doing it myself, it ended up saving me a couple hundred bucks.
But driving to work this morning, I absolutely loved the feeling. Great car, and I own it. Once I parked, I said out loud, "I may have to hold onto you for a while."
Most things worth having take work to keep. Very true of these classic Saabs.
