Looking at your picture, that looks like an awfully long span for a 4x6 to be supporting the weight of the lump, especially as you get close to the center of the span, not to mention the capacity of the beams at ends of the garage you're using to support the 4x6.

It's been a while since I did beam calculations on wood (20 years ago when I had aspirations of becoming a structural engineer instead of the controls engineer that I am now). My sense of caution tells me that it may not be adequate for what you want to do.
