i mentioned the hall sensor or similar (ign module,et all). quick and dirty checks involve removing a spark wire and checking for spark against ground. removing a spark plug would be better. have someone else crank while you have your head in the trunk to listen for pump activity. if the pump is running on cranking, then you have a spark (i think that is a true statement), and you need to look back at air ducting for inlet.
