Question about coasting

I'm on a quest to see how high I can get my MPG. I'm running out of things I can do or change. Since I'm not going to change cars, my latest strategy is to coast. I've actually been taking it out of gear and coasting a lot lately. I'm taking coasting one step further now...and shutting off the car. There are a lot of gentle hills where I can coast 1/2 to a full mile at a time without losing any speed. Over the course of a tank, this can add up to 20 or 30 miles with the engine off...at least that's my estimate.
Is there any harm to coasting those distances, and putting it in 5th letting the clutch out to restart the engine? It's a 5spd, and it's in neutral obviously. But I thought I'd ask the experts. I've already factored in every and all possible safety issues...I'm just interested in engine, trans and electrical issues from coasting and repeatedly restarting by engaging the engine in 5th gear.
