Use the fuel that matches your budget Posted by EverettDave [Email] (#1894) [Profile/Gallery] (more from EverettDave) on Thu, 12 Jun 2008 17:30:39 In Reply to: yes, brownie, Thu, 12 Jun 2008 17:10:58 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Since the APC system works so flawlessly and adapts to any modern US fuel octane level, I suggest everyone use the fuel he/she can best afford, and be mindful that with the lower octanes one saves money, but one must not expect the turbo boost to be the best. I've had several C900 Turbos, and I have always found that that amazing two liter four will give me all I need in response just at or under turbo boost, even for on ramps and such.
For all around use I have been using middle grade in both my 900 SPG and my V70R 2.3 turbo 5 cylinder without any problems. I don't expect nor need full maxiumum turbo boost in either car for normal street and highway use. But with these new fuel costs, I know I could do fine with basic fuel as long as I don't use my right foot too heavily. A compromise, but sometimes compromises are the right answer. Do what's best for you and your budget.
