The air distribution switch on my '92 900 SC was never formed right from the factory, so it usually leaks. The rubber half never mates right with the plastic half. I'm going to replace it soon.
One good way to find the source of your vacuum leaks is with a hand vacuum pump. If you attach this pump to the line supplying vacuum to the distribution switch and use the pump to evacuate the reservoir and lines (this may take a while) and then change the air distribution switch position, you can tell if you have a fast leak in the floor vents, a slow leak in the face vents, and no leak on defrost like my car. If they all leak, you may have a leak on the line between the firewall and the distribution switch. Don't forget to check the function of the recirculation system since it is vacuum-powered. Later cars (like after '87) use an electric servo so you'll need to power up the electrical system to see if it closes the flap on the intake. If it doesn't, attach the vacuum pump directly to the flap servo line and evacuate it. If the flap falls open within 30 seconds, either the line or the servo are leaking.
