I'm just saying that it's a little logical fallacy to think one CAUSES the other. Makes me kind of smile.

They may be both about to go but one MUST go before the other; there needs to be pressure there to make them fail, and when one fails, there is no pressure to make the other go bad unless the first one is fixed or replaced. THey CAN'T both lose seal at once.

The pressure against them is always equal, that needed to depress the spring fingers of the pressure plate.

I say, both same age, each might be about ready to go at same time. But remember, slave is a different kind of sealing system, captive o-rings in grooves, not a flexing thin rubber cup. I'd leave the slave in place, since it's such a royal P.I.T.A to remove it, and just fix the master if it was the master that went. Many car owners have done that and gotten many many miles and even years of use.
