Removing the tank is really pretty simple, but be sure to have a spare or two of the hose end connectors to the fuel pump because they tend to break on removal. I've done fine by using a piece of rubber fuel line hose clamped on the old line (with the barb of the old connector still in it) on one end and on a new connector on the other end to replace the broken connector. With good, thick reinforced fuel line hose, there's really no need to go through the pain of trying to attach the new connector directly to the old, hard fuel line.
